Lloyd H. Kasper, MD, is Professor of Medicine, Neurology, and Microbiology/Immunology at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. Dr. Kasper received his MD degree from Rush Medical College and completed his internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Dartmouth. After completing a fellowship in Microbiology and Pathology at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Kasper joined the staff at Dartmouth in 1983. Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Kasper has researched the biological basis of the immune attack in multiple sclerosis (MS), leading research to determine how T-cells malfunction in people with MS. He continues to pursue investigations into immune mechanisms in MS, including the effect of specific novel therapeutics in both human and experimental disease.
