Mitzi J. Williams, MD, currently serves as the Medical Director of the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center and Medical Director of Adult Rehabilitation Services at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta. She earned her BS degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology from Emory University and her Medical Degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She completed her internship and neurology residency at MCG and her fellowship at the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center. During her training, she was a Graduate Medical Education Committee Resident Member (2007-2008) and Chief Resident in Neurology (2007-2008).

As Medical Director of the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center at MCG Health, Dr. Williams serves a patient population of over 1400 people in Georgia and South Carolina. She is also a member of the Tenure and Review Committee for the Department of Psychiatry at MCG. She advocates for the Patient and Family Centered Care initiative, and has given presentations both nationally and abroad in conjunction with the Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACCME) and other organizations to build partnerships with patients and families to improve the quality of patient care.

Dr. Williams is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with memberships in the National MS Society, the American Academy of Neurology, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers.
